An invitation to give a Kolmogorov Lecture acknowledges long-term or life-long research contributions to one of the fields initiated or transformed by Kolmogorov. Examples are the theory of A.N. Kolmogorov complexity, randomness and information, the theory of dynamic systems, and the foundations of probability.



All nominations should be addressed to lecture@kolmogorov.clrc.rhul.ac.uk.

New lecturers will be decided by the University of London Kolmogorov Lecture Committee. Input from previous years' winners is welcome.

A nomination should consist of:

  • Name and contact details of the nominee
  • Name of the nominator
  • A short description of the distinguished research contribution of the nominee, and its importance, in a form accessible to a general computing science audience



15th May each year.



The lecture will be delivered and the medal awarded annually each spring, normally at Royal Holloway, University of London.
